Lekto Sawdust Briquettes and Lekto Hardwood Heat Logs are a great alternative to firewood. They can be used as your main fuel during the day time, are a renewable wood fuels resource and are eco-friendly, so they are not only good for your wood burner but also the planet.

  1. 100% natural and renewable wood fuel

What are Briquettes, and what are they made of? Wood Briquettes are a wood fuel made from compressed dry sawdust; they will usually have less than 10% moisture content, Lekto briquettes are extra dry with a moisture content below 9%. We don't cut down any trees to make our briquettes. Lekto Hardwood Heat Logs and Sawdust Briquettes are 100% natural and made from sustainably managed hardwood sawdust from sawmills which is a natural by-product. No chemical additives are used during processing.

  1. Very economical, contain more wood fuel than firewood logs

They are made by compressing wood in specialist machines under many tonnes of pressure. The pressure liquifies the lignin in the wood and it is this what binds the sawdust together. Lekto Hardwood Heat Logs have a higher burning temperature than traditional firewood and also heat up more quickly. we recommend breaking hardwood heat logs in 2 or more pieces as they do expand in size and you don't want to overload your burner.

Sawdust Briquettes are made of 100% of pure, dense, hardwood birch sawdust. They are very economical as they are equivalent to three or four traditional logs and are great to be used as your main fuel. They need minimal attendance once lit.

  1. They are very easy to store

Because each briquette has a consistent shape and size, they are easy to stack and store away, even if your space is limited. They also come packaged in small bundles, so you only need to open what you are going to use. Lekto Hardwood Heat Logs come in 1x 20kg mini pack, each log weights 2kg, but Sawdust Briquettes mini-pack contains 20 briquettes and weighs 18kg. They both come in a recyclable carbon box, which makes it even easier to store them by stacking them in your woodshed or close to your indoor wood burner.

  1. Easy to use, extra dry and lights up quickly with very little smoke or ash

The compressed hardwood in these heat logs means they are extremely easy to light. They also heat up more quickly than normal wood, ideal when cooking or heating your room with a log burner. Because they are made of compressed wood, you have more material to burn so that they will stay alight for longer. You'll also find they produce much less ash and waste than other firewood logs.

  1. Odourless, they are great for open fire

You can use individual Heat Logs or Sawdust Briquettes to boost traditional fires or create the fire by using just them. If you are using the briquettes for wood burners, we recommend using 2-3 each time depending on the size of the stove.

All in all, it’s easy to see why so many people use Lekto briquettes and Heat Logs for their wood burners. Hopefully, you can see why too and are tempted to give them a try yourself.
