Sawdust is one of the primary sources of biomass for the production of solid wood fuels for generating heat in both the centralised system and in a decentralised system for residential use. Also known as 'Day Briquettes', Sawdust Briquettes are suitable for use in fireplaces, multi-fuel stoves, chiminea and open fires, and ideal companions for our Lekto Night Briquettes and Lekto Hardwood Heat Logs.
Chemical Free:
They might look like the other briquettes on the market, but they are a lot better for you and the planet. Made from 100% pure, dense, hardwood birch sawdust, we do not use treated wood or glue or any other chemicals for that matter to make them. When burning our Sawdust Briquettes, the only thing you will get is bright and steady flames and a lot of heat, not the smell of chemicals. Perfect for wood burners and multi-fuel stoves, Sawdust Briquettes do not split, spark or expand. Hence, they're ideal to use on open fires and fireplaces with limited space – you'll never have to worry about logs slipping out of place and doubling tending times ever again!
Eco-Phenomenal:
We don't cut down any trees to make our Sawdust Briquettes. We work together with sawmills and use their sawdust, which is a natural by-product.
Our new Lekto Briquettes are very economical as they are equivalent to three or four traditional logs and are ideal for use as your main wood fuel during the day hence we like to call them 'Day Briquettes'. They need minimal attendance once lit. To get a longer burn time, the best value and heat for your money we recommend not to move Sawdust Briquettes around once they are lit.
Great Value:
The moisture content of most briquettes is 10%, meaning they burn better and cause fewer chimney and flue problems. Lekto Sawdust Briquettes have less than 9% moisture with a high heating value of 5.10 kWh/kg., meaning your rooms will heat up faster. Briquettes deliver around 50% more heat than logs. When they burn they leave approximately 0.33% of their original volume as ash, meaning you don't have to empty the stove as often as before. No chemical additives are used during processing. You can even use the resulting ash to fertilise your garden. It's a win-win situation all around.
Easy to Use:
Because each briquette has a consistent shape and size, they are easy to stack and store away, even if your space is limited. Each mini-pack contains 20 Lekto Sawdust Briquettes and weighs 18kg. They burn for up to 2-3 hours, depending on your airflow, giving you a steady heat throughout. If you are using the briquettes for wood burners, we recommend using 2-3 Lekto Briquettes each time depending on the size of the stove.
